Lessons from entrepreneurial journey of NR Narayana Murthy

Hi,
Recently I read article ‘Making of a legend’ written by Dibeyendu Ganguly in Corporate Dossier supplement of The Economic Times. The article narrates entrepreneurial journey of Infosys founder NR Narayana Murthy.

I am sharing some of the lessons I learned from the story.

  1. Contribute to social work from early days of your career.
  2. Being courageous is a corner stone of entrepreneurial skill sets.
  3. Develop global mindset.
  4. Be indifferent to money and comforts it can buy.
  5. Seek education where teaching is done effectively and not through dictation of notes.
  6. From early stage in your career, develop habit of applying your intellect to solve real world problems.
  7. Doing research paper presentation at International academic conferences can offer you new opportunities.
  8. International exposure can motivate you to pursue entrepreneurship.
  9. One of the best ways to solve the country’s problems is by creating jobs.
  10. Working in a job for few years will help the future entrepreneur to learn the basics.
  11. Respect is a one of the most important value entrepreneur should adhere.

I will look forward to your feedback.
