My internship journey

My internship journey

Hello everyone,

I am Sanskriti Gupta. I did my MBA at IIM Sirmaur. As I entered my second year of MBA, I always wanted to do an internship in the related field so that I could get a hands-on experience of how companies work and how a particular domain in a company works. So, I started searching for internships on Internshala, and there I came to know about Eha Management Consultancy. I applied for the internship, and my CV got shortlisted, and then I had an interview with Dr. Sachin Bhidewhere he checked my potential. He asked me why I wanted to do this internship and many more things related to my domain, and overall, he checked whether I was a good fit or not. And after that I was fortunate enough to get this internship. I chose this organization because I have some experience in lead generation, and since the company is helping other organizations in generating leads, it was aligning with my role also. When I read about the founder, his experience in the field attracted my interest in doing an internship.

After joining as an intern, I was provided with a non-disclosure agreement where all the terms and conditions of the internship were very well written. Daily I used to call Sachin sir before starting my work, and I would inform him what all I was going to do that day, and after completing all my tasks, I would update him over call or message. Also, twice a week, we used to have a meeting where I would update him with all my tasks, and if he needed to, he would add to my tasks or point out the areas for improvement.

During my internship, I got a practical exposure to how lead generation actually happens in the real world. One of my first tasks was to work on a telecalling list meant for school outreach for RITeSchool. This involved finding school addresses, contact numbers, and names of the directors and principals. The task that taught me the importance of accuracy when handling data.

In addition to this, I was responsible for creating courier tags for a few hundred schools—something I hadn’t done before but ended up enjoying because of how process-driven and detail-oriented it was. After completing all the courier tags, I made a report where I mistakenly mentioned the number of schools contacted and corrected the number in a later draft. Meanwhile, sir dictated to me the checklist for selecting school ERP software and asked me to format the document properly with the header and footer. Sachin sir patiently explained everything to me and understood my situation whenever required.

Another significant part of my work involved a project for a client named PMWares. I was asked to arrange action items based on priority, which really pushed me to think more analytically. I also worked on designing a few lead generation ideas. This required me to step into the shoes of a marketer—figuring out what might actually work in the real world, rather than just in theory. It was both challenging and interesting since I had to balance creativity with logic while developing practical ideas. Later on, I was asked to design a landing page for a newly launched newsletter by PMWares, since it is not used, but Sachin sir appreciated my effort. Now, I am tasked with calling the schools to check whether they have received the brochures or not. Now, I am writing this blog here. Sachin sir helped me in explaining what all I should mention.

Another task was to understand Eha Management Consultancy’s website; for that, I started by checking the website to understand its structure, its offerings, and how well it reflects the company’s services.

Overall, this internship was a very enriching experience. I got to explore things I hadn’t done before, and more importantly, I started thinking in a more solution-oriented way. I’m genuinely grateful for the learning I got here and the chance to grow.
